    Morning Call by Greg Secker


    2007 - 04.27

    The DOW continues its strong move higher by adding 15 points yesterday and closing at a new all time high at 13105. The S&P fell back 1 points, the NASDAQ added 6 points as they both consolidate at their highs. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 gapped higher at the open above the 6500 level but could not hold on to its gains as is traded back lower throughout the day and ended the day up 7 points at 6469. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 250 also gapped higher at the open above the 12000 level but fell back during the day to close up 36 points. Futures – DOW is called up 5 points, FTSE is called flat. Oil is trading at $66.50 a barrel and gold has fallen back to $672.6.

    2007 - 04.26

    The DOW powered through the 13000 level yesterday and closed the day up 135 points at 13089, we have seen the DOW climb by over 600 points in the last 10 trading days so watch out for a pull back to occur as people lock in some profits. The S&P added 15 points to close up at a new 6 year high. The NASDAQ added 23 points to also close at a new 6 year high. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 gapped higher at the open and traded in a range for the rest of the session closing up 32 points at 6461. Futures – DOW is called up 5 points, FTSE is called up 40 points. Oil is trading at $67.20 a barrel and gold at $685.8

    2007 - 04.25

    The DOW add 34 points as it continues to build out its consolidation below the big number of 13000. The S&P and NASDAQ both traded lower during the day but ended flat. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, fell back 50 points and the FTSE 250 fell 107 points both closing near the 20 ema. Futures – The DOW is called down 5 points, FTSE is called down 10 points. Oil is trading at $66 a barrel and gold at $684.70

    2007 - 04.24

    The DOW pulled back from the highs yesterday and closed down 42 points. The S&P fell back 3 points and the NASDAQ fell 2 points. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 is finding some resistance from the 6500 level and closed down 7 points. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 250 gapped higher at the open but fell back during the day to close up 23 points. Futures – the DOW is called up 25 points, FTSE is called up flat. Oil is trading higher at $66.90 a barrel and gold is trading at $687.40

    2007 - 04.23

    The DOW closed Friday up 153 points closing at a new all time high of 12962, the index is now looking a bit over extended after seven consecutive up days. The S&P added 13 points and closed at a new 6 year high. The NASDAQ gained 21 points and closed at a new 6 year high. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 gapped higher at the open and after testing the 6500 level pulled back to closed up 46 points at 6486. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 250 gapped higher at the open to close up 101 points at 11900. Futures – DOW is called up 10 points, FTSE is called up 10 points. Oil is trading at $65.20 a barrel and gold at $691.90

    The DOW closed the day up 4 points and above the 12800 level after trading lower at the open yesterday. The S&P also recovered from the lows to close down 1 point. The NASDAQ closed down 5 points. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 gapped lower at the open but recovered to close down 8 points. Futures – DOW is called up 15 points, FTSE is called up 25 points. Oil is trading at $61.60 a barrel and gold at $684.8

    2007 - 04.19

    The DOW closed the day up 31 points at an all time record high. The DOW is sat on the 12800 level which has been a resistance level so far this year, watch this level for a break or pull back. The S&P added 1 and closed at new all time highs, while the NASDAQ fell back 6 points. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 is still falling after the surprise increase of the inflation data, it fell 48 points yesterday, while the FTSE 250 fell 52 points. Futures – DOW is called down 45 points, FTSE is called down 50 points. Oil is trading at $62.60 a barrel and gold at $687.2

    2007 - 04.18

    The DOW closed the day up 52 points, 12800 is the next key level to watch for a break or pull back. The S&P added 3 points and closed at another 6 year high. But the NASDAQ fell 1 point as it consolidates below its 6 year high level. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 close the day down 18 points after traded down in the morning following the UK CPI data then rallied in the afternoon after the US CPI data. Futures – The DOW is called down 10 points, FTSE is called down 10 points. Oil is trading at $63.20 a barrel and gold at $689.

    The DOW closed the day up 108 points at 12720 as it closes in on the all time highs at the 12800 level. The S&P added 15 points as it closed at a new 5 year high at 1468. The NASDAQ added 26 points to close at 2518 just under the 5 year high at 2525. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 100 gapped higher at the open and closed up 53 points at another new 5 year high at 6516. The FTSE, writes Greg Secker, 250 added 90 points to close at an all time high at 12015. Futures – DOW is called down 30 points, FTSE is called down 20 points.     The DOW closed the day up 4 points and looks to be in a holding pattern as it decides its next directional move. Look for more range movement at the highs until a clear move occurs. The S&P closed up 3 points and the NASDAQ up 8 points as they continue to trade in their consolidation ranges.
