The US Federal Reserve has raised interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point to 5.25% as it looks to slow inflation. Stocks rose on the news as there is a feeling that the Feds tightening policy is coming to an end.
Japan is expected to raise Interest rates for the first time in five years from the current rate of zero. Japan introduced zero Interest rates in March 2001 in a bid to revive the economy from the long terms recession dating back to the 90s.
